Orillia opening waterfront to food trucks
ORILLIA, Ont. — The city of Orillia is looking for seasonal food truck operators to fill spots on its busy waterfront as part of a pilot project.
The city is making four spots available on Centennial Drive, across from Couchiching Beach Park at part of its Food Truck Trial, which includes two permanent and two daily permit sites for the upcoming summer season, April 15 to Oct. 15.
The Sunshine City has a population of more than 31,000 residents and is host to more than 30 annual events.
A daily licence fee is $85 and a seasonal licence will run $3,476 for operation seven days a week. (Students entrepreneurs looking to start an agri-culinary business will receive a 50 per cent reduction.)
Food truck applications are due by noon on Dec. 1. More information can be found at orillia.ca/foodtrucktrial.
